Is it for you?

Everyone has family arguments at some time. Usually these are easily resolved or blow over, but sometimes they just worse. This is when a Relate Family Counsellor can help you work things out in a way that's best for everyone.

Big changes in a family can cause stress for everyone, long running disputes can cause pain to the while family, and the problems one person might be going through can affect their relationship.

How can Relate Family Counselling help?

All families are unique and have unique problems, but our counsellors are experienced relationship experts and are specially trained to work with families to help people resolve their problems.

What will happen?

Relate Family Counsellors don't take sides and won't tell you what to do. They will explore with the family the interpersonal relationships and work with you to move away from the problems.

Before beginning Relate Family Counselling, you will have an initial consultation. Following that you set appointments with the counsellor that everyone can attend. The counsellor might suggest that family members sometimes come alone or in smaller groups or bring other relatives to some sessions.

What we expect from you

Once counselling begins we ask that you keep your appointments. If you do have to cancel we ask you give us as much notice as possible, so we can  offer the appointment o someone else.

How much does it cost?

Relate Family Counselling is a charged for service though subsidised or free sessions may be available. Your local Relate Centre will give you details.
